Quarry Film Location

Cromhall Quarry in South Gloucestershire is located just 1.5 miles from junction 14 of the M5 motorway and only 19 miles from Bristol, the South West’s regional capital and a thriving centre for the film and the creative industries.

With 55 acres of mixed terrain and 9.5 acres of water this former limestone quarry is a truly unique site and has been used as a UK location by both film and television companies for over four decades. Much of the filming that has taken place at the quarry has been as a secret location. The former haul road entry allows easy access for large vehicles and rigs and slopes down to a gently shelving shallow beach.

The landscape at the quarry changes with the four seasons; from the beautiful colours of autumn to a more barren landscape during the wintertime. In the spring the site comes alive with colour, flora and fauna and in the summer months the sun dances on the clear water whilst kingfishers dart about.

If you are looking for an unusual film or TV location in a rural setting with great transport links and close to the amenities of a large city Cromhall Quarry may just fit your brief.
